What Are the Playoffs?
The Playoffs are the final stage of each league season at Barony Golf Lab. They take place twice a year:
Winter Playoffs — held at the end of February till the end of March
Summer Playoffs — held at the end of August till the end of September
Only players who have qualified during the season can take part. You qualify by finishing in the top three of any of our main monthly events:

Longest Drive
Nearest the Pin
Par 3's
If you finish 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in any of these competitions, you earn a Playoff spot for that season.
During the Playoffs, all qualified players compete in a final set of rounds to decide
the Winter League Champion and Summer League Champion.
Winners receive:
Cut‑crystal champion trophies
A place on our perpetual honours boards that you keep for the year
Premium prizes
The Playoffs are designed to be exciting, fair, and open to everyone — whether you’re early teens or 80+. If you can finish in the top three of any event, you’ve earned your chance to play for the season title.
Who Can Play?
The Barony Golf Lab leagues are open to all golfers — members and non‑members alike. You don’t need a handicap, a club membership, or any previous league experience. If you can swing a club, you can take part.
Both members and non‑members compete on the same leaderboard, earn the same points, and have the same chance to qualify for the Playoffs. The only difference is the entry price per event — the competition itself is completely equal.
To take part in any league, players must download the free TrackMan Golf app. This allows us to add you into our leagues, track your scores, update leaderboards, and ensure your results are recorded accurately every time you play.
Players can join at any time during the season and enter as many or as few events as they like. Every visit gives you a chance to earn points, climb the leaderboard, or secure a Playoff spot with a top‑three finish.
The leagues are designed to be friendly, competitive, and accessible — a place where juniors, adults, and seniors can all compete on equal terms, whether they’re regular members or visiting players.
How the Seasons Work
Barony Golf Lab runs two league seasons each year along with our Junior setup during the summer.
Winter League (September to February - Finals in March)
Summer League (March to August - Finals in September)
Junior League - 3x Tiers
6-9 | 10-15 | 15-16
Both leagues run alongside our regular competitions. Each month, you can play in:

Par 3's
Every time you take part in one of these events, you earn league points. Your points are added to the season leaderboard, and your position moves up or down as the months go on.
You can join the league at any time, but the earlier you start, the more chances you have to collect points and qualify for the Playoffs at the end of February (Winter) and September (Summer).
How to Earn Points
You earn league points by taking part in our regular competitions. Every month, we run:

Par 3's
Each event gives you a set number of points based on where you finish. The better you play, the more points you collect and every point helps you climb the season leaderboard.
You don’t need to play every event, but the more you enter, the more chances you have to score. Even if you don’t finish in the top places, most events still award participation points, so every round counts.
All points you earn go straight onto your Winter League or Summer League total, depending on the season.
Playoff Qualification
Each month, the top three players in our main events earn an automatic place in the Season Playoffs:
Course of the Week - Up to 100 Points
Course of the Month - Up to 150 Points
Longest Drive - Up to 25 Points
Nearest the Pin - Up to 25 Points
Par 3's - Up To 25 Points
If you finish 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in any of these competitions, you secure a Playoff spot for that season Winter or Summer, depending on when the event takes place.
Even if you join the league later in the season, you can still qualify by finishing in the top three of any event. However, players who start earlier naturally have more chances to earn points and secure their place.
At the end of each season
February - March for Winter,
August - September for Summer
all qualified players compete in the Playoffs to decide the league champions.
How the Playoffs Work
The Playoffs are the final stage of each league season, where all qualified players compete across three rounds to decide the Winter or Summer League Champion.
Round 1 — Quarter Final Round
All players who earned a Playoff spot during the season take part in the opening round. Everyone plays the same course, and the leaderboard is reset so every qualifier starts on equal footing.
At the end of Round 1, a set number of players progress to Round 2.
Round 2 — Semi‑Final Round
The remaining players compete again on a new course. Scores from this round determine who reaches the Final.
Only the top performers move on to the last stage.
Round 3 — The Final
The finalists play one final round to decide the League Champion. This round is winner‑takes‑all — the best score in the Final becomes the season champion.
The Champion
The winner receives:
A cut‑crystal champion trophy
Premium prizes
Their name added to the perpetual honours board, which they keep for one full year
After the year is complete, the honours board is returned to Barony Golf Lab and updated for the next champion.
